Part One: GeneralIntroduction

AnhuiTechnical College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ATCMEE, in short)is one of the first national key colleges supported by the Ministry ofEducation and Ministry of Finance. As a public higher vocational college, it isdirectly affiliated to the Education Department of Anhui Province. ATCMEE wasestablished in 1935 known as the Wuhu Saint Aloysius School and has been one ofthe first schools to be engaged in vocational education. ATCMEE was upgraded from Wuhu Mechanical School in June, 2003 approved by the Anhui ProvincialGovernment.

ATCMEE is presently known as the key college in national mechanical industry and theadvanced unit in national vocational education, and the training base fornational most-needed personnel and one of the first group of model colleges and the training base for backbone teachers in secondary vocational schools in Anhui province. ATCMEE has always been treasuring the school motto of “Improving Morality, Practicing Skills，Setting up Business，Dedicatingto the Country”. Great importance has been attached to the cooperation between enterprise and college and the combination between professional practice and academic study and the cultivation of learners’ competence.

There are 10 departments in ATCMEE, namely, the Department of Mechanical Engineering,the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Informational Engineering, the Department of Numerical Control Engineering, the Department of Automobile Engineering, the Department of Trade and Economics, the Department of Humanities, the Department of Basic Courses, the Department of Ideological Education and the College of Further Education. Focusing on the mechanical and electronic industry, ATCMEE offers a range of 45 specialties, of which, 5 specialties are honored as the key specialties of state level, and 5 as the model specialties and 6 as the featured specialties and 1 as the model specialty of teaching reform of Anhui province and 2 as the model specialtiesin the mechanical industry. Another 2 specialties are supported by the Ministryof Finance.

There are about 10,000 full time students on campus at present. Our college has a professional and experienced teaching team with 549 full-time and part-timeteachers, 90.15% of whom have both professional knowledge and practical experience. There are 11 academic leaders, 6 excellent teachers and 11 teachingteams of provincial level. ATCMEE has constantly employed hundreds of expertsand technicians from different industries.

Inrecent years, ATCMEE has been working on over 200 academic research projects of all levels and has received 44 teaching and researching rewards. For foursuccessive years, ATCMEE has been on the top list in Anhui province in terms ofthe number of research projects and the total research funding.

ATCMEE provides for excellent practicing and training facilities with the total valueof more than CNY 1,3000,0000 yuan. There are 148 on-campus practicing centersincluding 1 national numerical training base, 7 special training bases of provincial level and 4 on-campus plants and 12 subsidiary campuses in different enterprises. ATCMEE has also been qualified to provide for various social services like vocational skills verification, 3-D CAD training, and professional training for the ship industry and for other special industries.So far, ATCMEE has been working with various enterprises like Chery Automobile Co. Ltd., Anhui Heli Forklift Ltd., and Sany Heavy Industry Co. Ltd., to build 225 off-campus practicing centers.

ATCMEE has enjoyed a good reputation for enrollment and employment. For 6 successiveyears, the rate of first choice, registration and the minimum requirement level has constantly remained at the top of all vocational colleges in Anhuiprovince. The annual employment rate reaches 98% and has been awarded as the Advanced Employment College for 6 successive years. Great importance has been attached to the professional training, competence cultivation and innovation.ATCMEE has established cooperation relationship with various enterprises like Heli Forklift, Chery Automobile, Jinding Boiler, Orient Laser Education and Magneti Marrelli to build 40 order classes for over 3000 students.

Studentsof ATCMEE have been very competitive in many ways and have won over 200 prizesin various professional contests both of provincial and national level like National Skills Contest for Vocational Colleges, National Numeric ControlContest, National Robot Contest, and National Electrical Designing Contest etc.ATCMEE also works hard to improve the physical training level and the physical health of students. The sports’ delegation of the college has been the firstprize winner in recent 2 years of Anhui province.

ATCMEE is also actively engaged in social service. It has been offering over 20,000 training opportunities annually for secondary and senior vocational skills verification and professional training for enterprises, laid-off workers,off-duty soldiers and labor forces from the countryside.

ATCMEE has established relationships with various colleges abroad such as Dresden University of Cooperative Education, American Shoreline Community College,Korea University of Technology and Education, and Singapore Nanyang Polytechnic.20 authentic textbooks were imported and integrated into the teaching practice. 93 teachers and administrators have been sent to thesecolleges for academic exchange and 18 foreign teachers have been invited toteach oral English. Besides, cooperation between Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macaohas also been strengthened in recent years. 27 students have been selected to Chaoyang University of Technology, I-Shou University and St. John’s University respectively for a 5-month short term academic exchange. The joint-program on Mechanical Technician and Computer Networking and Technical Support between our college and St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada, was officially approved by the Education Department of Anhui Provincial Government in June 2015 and there are a total of 124 students at present.

During the thirteenth five-year plan of China, ATCMEE will constantly strengthen the teaching and managing reform, enhance the connotative development and further the international communication to fulfill the task of constructing a national key vocational college.

Part Two: Programs Description

In 2018, ATCMEE offers 6 diploma programs for the overseas students. These programs are scheduled for three years of academic study. A diploma will begranted to those who have finished all the designated courses and passed allt he relevant tests.
